Monster Energy Florida Infrastructure

On today’s episode of Popcorn Politics, Brian Kramer and I discuss the allegations of child trafficking that Congressman Matt Gaetz is facing along with news of a deal being reached on infrastructure and a 6th tied parliamentary election in Israel.

The allegations against Matt Gaetz are unfortunately predictable, congressman Gaetz tied himself closely to the QANON movement which is based around an anti-child trafficking conspiracy theory.

We also discussed infrastructure and the various payment methods being proposed. Specifically, Brian and I debated the merits of a Vehicle Mileage Tax and discussed SALT tax deductions as payment for an infrastructure package estimated to cost $5 trillion.

Biden has called for over $3 trillion in new taxes, but repealing the SALT cap makes the goal even loftier given the 50/50 Senate and narrow House majority.

In the second hour, Dylan Devenyi and I discuss the anime Monster.

Monster is the story of Japanese neurosurgeon Kenzo Tenma who saves the life of 10-year-old Johan Leibert only to learn years later that Johan became one of the world’s most prolific serial killers.

Tenma then sets out to kill the boy and learn the truth behind his seemingly random murder spree.

Thematically, this show is the story of a nihilist trying to prove that anyone is corruptible and nobody is special. This is also a story about nature versus nurture, told through Johan and his twin sister Anna.

With all the anime out there, I believe this stands out as one of the best, every element comes together to make this a thoroughly enjoyable and thought-provoking experience. We talk about all this and more, enjoy.
